Biography

After years playing in various acts in and around their hometown of Chapel Hill, NC, Justin Ellis (vocals/bass), Chris Petto (guitar), Chris McCarty (keyboards/strings) and Brett Scott (drums/production) came together in late 2014 to begin writing and recording as The Color Exchange. The band released their first record, Cubed, in April 2015. The album received praise from various publications including Creative Loafing, Can I May I, and Speakers in Code for its blend of pop-rock accessibility with nuanced layered arrangements. Since then, the band has toured throughout North America and supported acts such as Cymbals Eat Guitars, Trails and Ways, and The Protomen.
