Erin McLendon is a singer/songwriter from Durham, NC who finds her inspiration from artists ranging from Jimmy Buffett and Jason Mraz, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire to Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Her music takes the roots of country music and combines them with Georgia soul and a Carolina free spirit to create a unique Americana sound that is all hers. She began writing at a young age, but it was a tenth grade history project that really got her songwriting career going. The assignment was to write a song about the Vietnam War and perform it for the class, and later, for the entire school on Veteran’s Day. Ever since she has been writing solo, and collaborating with artists such as Britton Cameron, Bryan White, and Mike Marcum. Her songs contain catchy melodies that focus on emphasizing the story within the music.
