Nate Baker is a writer and musician from Indianapolis, Indiana. His life changed the day he heard a Townes Van Zandt record on his parent’s turntable, inspiring him to consume a steady diet of literate, lonesome songwriters. Baker’s first album, One Day In May, was recorded at San Francisco’s Tiny Telephone and is an evocative scrapbook of endings, beginnings, fortunes, failures, courage and humility. His songwriting is said to be “Invested with a quiet grace and emotional power” (Bloomington Herald Times) and he has shared the stage with Ron Sexsmith, AA Bondy, Daniel Bachman, Jesca Hoop and Marisa Anderson among many others.
